Rob Green is a former Coast Guard officer and a lifelong artist. After graduating from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1998 (B.S., Government) he spent six years on active duty as Operations Officer of USCGC SEDGE (WLB-402) in Homer, Alaska; as Admin Staff for the Assistant Commandant for Operations (G-O) at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC; and finally as Executive Officer of USCGC HICKORY (WLB-212) in Homer, Alaska. His service awards include the Coast Guard Commendation Medal and Coast Guard Achievement Medal, as well as the Admiral Kramek Award for Inspirational Leadership.
After leaving Active Duty as a Lieutenant in 2004, Rob settled down with his family in Cedar Falls, Iowa (his wife's hometown) and started CutterAgent.com. In addition to his commercial work, Rob volunteers his time as a Coast Guard Auxiliarist (Flotilla 085-33-04 in Des Moines, Iowa) through the Auxiliary Graphics Corps and as webmaster for several Active Duty Coast Guard units. He's also the webmaster and token Coast Guard veteran at AMVETS Post #49.
Rob greatly enjoys his daily interactions with the Coast Guard fleet, and frequently counsels junior officers and enlisted members on Coast Guard career opportunities, the trials of service life, and "what it's like on the outside".
Rob is married to the former Jocelyn Falck of Waterloo, Iowa, a professional freelance writer, editor, and author of Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives. They have two children, Elsa (born in 2006) and Ethan (born in 2008), as well as a pug and a cat.
