A well-designed unit website is a great PR tool...but setting one up can be a very daunting challenge. Most Coasties don't know how to code in HTML or CSS, and don't have the software needed to make the setup work easier.
That's why I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2007, as a volunteer webmaster. Save yourself a brain anuerism and have me rebuild your site. It only takes a couple of hours to do a complete conversion!
Just follow the instructions below to get started.
A link to your existing site & info, which I'll convert to the branding template.
If you don't have a site yet, then e-mail me the stuff you want included (can just about any format EXCEPT Microsoft Publisher!)...if you see a Coast Guard site you like, e-mail me the link so I can match the design.
A draft site on the www.cutteragent.com server for review and approval.
A finished ZIP file that conforms to existing Coast Guard policy.
Instructions on how to post the ZIP file to your unit's web folder on the USCG.mil server.
I build basic websites that don't require regular updating. Once the site is uploaded & live, it will be up to the unit to maintain it. If your want your site to incorporate newsletters or photo albums, I strongly recommend a free web service like Flicker.com or Google Docs to upload, maintain, and view those files. I'll be happy to install links in your unit website to those accounts.
The site is PERFECT!!! I absolutely love it! This is a huge lift and a GREAT product.
